The Evangelical Alliance Relief Fund (Tearfund) was created after the terrible famine in Biafra, caused by civil war in1968, and now works particularly in Africa, Asia and South America – and also across Eastern Europe and the UK.
TEAR Fund works with and through a worldwide network of local churches – forming one global church – to end poverty. It applies the highest possible standards, with integrity and transparency.
TEAR Fund’s work includes programmes aimed at defeating disease, improving basic services and reducing economic injustice, in addition to rapid response following major disasters. For more information visit the Tearfund website
